OLD POWER GENERATING ENGINE
Hanson Street., Kingston SE., S.A. 5275

The building housing the engine
SUMMARY
The old power generating engine that was privately owned and was used for many years is now housed in a dedicated building located in the Lions Park oposite the Royal Mail Hotel in Hanson Street.
Funds were provided for the building and the relocation costs by the National Trust as a centenary project, and in conjunction with much donated time and labour, the project came into being.
The engine is still in working order and from time to time it is given a run.
VIEWING
The engine is housed in a smallish building with full sized windows on two sides and good views can be had of it. Photos can be difficult to take through the glass but can be done as one of these pictures shows.
There are also several displays inside that can be read to gain further information about the engine and it's history.
